- (7/26/1800 Paris-4/24/1874 Paris) (France); aka Tassaert, OctavePainter, lithographer, and engraver. Considered a successor of Greuze. Created sensual nudes in mythological and historical scenes, known for his depictions of human miseries, and rendered boudoir scenes. Dubbed the "Poor man's Prud'hon" and the "Attic Corregio."
